SOUTHERN CONFERENCE

In October 2026, Alabama will have the distinct honor of hosting the VFW Southern Conference at the Mobile Convention Center. This is the first time Alabama has hosted this gathering since 2011. From October 22-25, we expect approximately 1,000 veterans representing 244,750 members across 1,407 posts spanning 14 Southern states. This isn't just a conference; it's a reunion of service, sacrifice, and shared purpose.

What makes this event particularly meaningful is the diversity of attendees. Beyond the veterans themselves, we'll be hosting Auxiliaries from Posts, Districts, and States throughout the region; many of whom lead their own non-profits and community organizations. These are the people who continue to serve their communities long after their military service has ended, and they are a network of influential servants that extends into every corner of the South. As you know, Alabama is not as large or populus as some of our sister Southern states, however; the Alabama VFW knows how to roll up its sleeves and work in our communities. In 2025, our 10,000 Alabama VFW members contributed nearly 1,775,000 hours of community service, provided 61 scholarships, provided over $350,000 in financial relief, and recovered over $85 million dollars in benefits for Alabama veterans.

We're working hard to make this conference memorable. The most beneficial part of any VFW conference is its Vendor and Sponsor Hall. These draw veterans and services to one another. They also create remarkable networking opportunities. The City of Mobile has generously donated portions of the Convention Center, but our greatest needs are transportation for our veterans to and from the airport, quality entertainment that honors their service, and food and beverage services that allow for the fellowship these gatherings deserve.

If you can make a profound impact on this event tan the Veterans we serve, a sponsorship would not only help us meet these essential needs but would also position your organization before an audience that values loyalty, service, and community—qualities I know you embody. We would be thrilled to showcase what you offer and ensure your contribution receives the recognition it deserves throughout the conference. Beyond the business opportunity, you’ll find this to be genuinely rewarding work. These veterans have given so much and helping us create an exceptional experience for them is something special.

We've set up a secure donation page through Zeffy to make your tax-deductible contribution easy: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/sponsorship-to-2026-vfw-southern-conference. The Department Adjutant, Lee Lambert, or the Quartermaster, Jim Steddum, would love to discuss sponsorship levels and benefits directly with you at your convenience. Please review our website to learn more about us at https://VFWAL.org. Thank you for considering this opportunity. I'm confident that a partnership between you and the Department of Alabama VFW would be something of which we’d all be proud.
