Youth Scholarships
Our youth scholarships
challenge students to reflect on our nation's history, their ideals and
principles, and their own experiences based on a patriotic theme.
Scout of the Year
Each year, the VFW honors
three young people - from Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sea Scouts, or Venturing
Crew - who have demonstrated exceptional citizenship in school, scouting, and
the community.
JROTC Cadet of the Year
Each year, the VFW honors
young people from JROTC units in local high schools who have demonstrated
exceptional citizenship in their leadership and education training and in the
community.
Teacher of the Year
Each year, the VFW
recognizes three exceptional teachers—one each from the elementary, junior
high, and high school levels—for their outstanding commitment to teaching
Americanism and instilling patriotism in their students.
Public Service Recognition
Each year, the VFW honors public servants like business
leaders, law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers for their
service to our local communities.
